Costco Wholesale Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer for its Issaquah, Washington office.
Job Duties: Develop the conceptual systems architecture design and supporting technologies needed to enable new and/or enhanced software functionality. Support the Product Owner with the identification and definition of enablers or work items to support the architectural runway of a given product or application. Define the non-functional requirements which support the development of epics and user stories aligned to a value stream. Identify technical dependencies across several product or application teams to support the implementation of new or enhanced functionality. Perform development, optimization, and automation activities to support the implementation of a product or application. Develop and implement front-end architecture to support user interface concepts. Deliver higher quality and scalable solutions utilizing engineering best practices. Participate in scrum ceremonies. Create and execute unit tests which validate the code changes made to support the implementation of a user story. Design, build, debug, optimize, and implement solutions in approved tool sets and databases. Develop high quality, efficient, and fault tolerant software. Support, extend, and build automated CI and CD pipelines. Design and deliver DevSecOps automation for application deployment and testing. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week from within commuting distance of Issaquah, WA; Dallas, TX; or Schaumburg, IL.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or a related field. Plus one year of experience in: Backend software development utilizing Java; Designing and building APIs using Microservice architecture; Integrating 3rd party APIs utilizing REST and GraphQL patterns; Performing Test driven development using JUnit and Mockito libraries; Designing, architecting, and deploying large scale applications to Azure, GCP Cloud, and Kubernetes; Utilizing Git for version control; Publishing and subscribing messages from Kafka Topic; and Performing data modelling with RDBMS and No SQL DB.
Alternative requirements: Three years of experience in: Backend software development utilizing Java; Designing and building APIs using Microservice architecture; Integrating 3rd party APIs utilizing REST and GraphQL patterns; Performing Test driven development using JUnit and Mockito libraries; Designing, architecting, and deploying large scale applications to Azure, GCP Cloud, and Kubernetes; Utilizing Git for version control; Publishing and subscribing messages from Kafka Topic; and Performing data modelling with RDBMS and No SQL DB.
