Summary
Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Echo Technician to join our EKG/Cardiology department. This role is critical in performing diagnostic echocardiography procedures, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and safety of cardiac imaging studies. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac sonography and will work onsite in Mishawaka, IN.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assess cardiac structures, hemodynamics, and function according to established protocols.
Set up, calibrate, and adjust imaging equipment, including manual manipulation of transducers during exams.
Conduct routine and complex imaging studies while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Identify anatomical structures, pathological findings, artifacts, and equipment limitations.
Accurately position patients and select appropriate technical parameters for imaging.
Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient information.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
Assist in departmental quality control procedures and uphold compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technician or similar cardiac sonography role.
Certification and credentials: BLS, ARDMS (cardiac/CCI), RDCS, CPACS required.
Proficiency in EPIC or equivalent electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Strong knowledge of echocardiography protocols, patient positioning, and imaging techniques.
Ability to perform under minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
Preferred Attributes
Previous experience in a hospital or large clinical setting.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and regulatory compliance in cardiac imaging.
Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume patient workflow efficiently.
